Venezuela is not a democracy anymore

In the last decades, Venezuela has undergone a process of institutional deterioration with the rise of Socialism of the 21st Century, implemented by Hugo Chavez and followed by Nicolas Maduro. This article seeks to understand if Venezuela can still be considered a democracy or not. The study is based on several international indexes that help to define the situation, as well as on the conceptual framework presented by Dahl and Levitsky.
