Abstract

In this article, a careful examination is conducted of Isabel Peterson's libertarian philosophy and her convictions regarding the significance of money in the social structure. Following a detailed analysis to map the interconnections between Peterson's ideas and the emergence of digital currencies, the article delves into how these monetary innovations can either align with or challenge libertarian principles. Additionally, it aims to discuss the impact of digital currencies on the realm of individual freedom, exploring both the opportunities and challenges that this new monetary paradigm brings. Simultaneously, it examines Peterson's perspective on government intervention in currency issuance. As a concluding point, it seeks to emphasize the enduring need for reflection on the role of money in society, grounded in Peterson's libertarian principles, thereby contributing to robustly underpin contemporary debates.
